The new year will see Kate in a run of staged and concert operas, starting with a reprise of one of her signature roles as the Composer in Ariadne Auf Naxos, with Franz Welser-Möst conducting the Cleveland Orchestra. She will sing a concert performance of La Damnation de Faust at La Philharmonie de Paris, before singing in two Katie Mitchell productions – Ariadne Auf Naxos at Théâtre Des Champs-Elysées in Paris, followed by a revival in Caen and Bordeaux of the critically acclaimed Miranda (After Henry Purcell), with Kate in the title role. She will conclude the season in Fiona Shaw’s new production of Cendrillon at the Glyndebourne Festival, where she will play Prince Charming.
