Yoojin Muhn is a native of Seoul, Korea. She started her musical journey as a church pianist at age 12 and studied composition at SookMyung Women’s University in Seoul, Korea. She earned master’s degree in Sacred Music from Westminster Choir College where she graduated with distinction, master’s degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati, and a doctor of musical arts degree in Choral Music with honors from the University of Southern California.
Dr. Muhn has directed the USC Oriana Women’s Chorus and led the USC Concert Choir as an assistant director. Also, She was invited to participate as a conducting fellow in the prestigious summer festivals in the States, such as the Oregon Bach Festival and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival. She has served as the Artistic Director at Tucson Masterworks Chorale in Tucson, Arizona.
Her compositions have been featured at regional ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) conferences, commissioned and performed by church choirs and community choruses, regional honor choirs, as well as collegiate choirs in the U.S., South Korea, and Germany.
Dr. Muhn currently serves as the Director of Choral Activities at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and also serves as the Director of Music Ministries at Vistoso Community Church in Oro Valley, Arizona.
